Back To Years & Beers
Wow, what a great
weekend!
If you were able
to make it then you won't need us to tell you that. If
you missed it then you should be sorry because you missed
lots of fantastic beers, some appalling dancing, excellent
music, some lewd West Country humour and some really stupid
competitions.
Friday Night
Friday night started with a bang with most of the thirty-some
sponsors turning out early doors for the free tasting
session, and boy did they taste! We were quite surprised
that there was any beer left when the public arrived at
7pm!

A
big thanks to our sponsors
By 7.30pm the
hall was full and the beer was being consumed as fast
as we could pour it. There was a fantastic buzz when Pete
Tinney stepped up to tell us his West Country tales, and
did he have some tales to tell us!
Filling
up on Friday Night

Pete
Tinney - Unplugged and Blue (Well, plugged and red really)
We didn't think
that anything could top the evening after Pete, but then
stepped up "The Vibrakings" and they really
went for it! Soon the hall rocking and everyone was having
a great time.
Saturday
Somewhat gingerly
the organizers arrived at the hall at varying times of
Saturday morning. Most were nursing the effects of the
"Quality Controlling" on Friday night, but as
soon as the doors opened people started arriving and off
we went again.
During Saturday
day time lots of families attended and most of them enjoyed
the selection of traditional and contemporary pub games.
Over twenty people
took part in the "Shove the Euro" competition
to try and decide the economic future of the Country.
Competitors chose to either shove the Pound or the Euro,
and thus the best Pound Shover fought the best Euro Shover
in the grand final. Ultimately the final was rigged with
both competitors shoving the Euro, the Government has
been informed of the outcome.

The two handsome grand final shovers
Saturday night was again
a great success. A pig was roasted in aid of Somerset
Air Ambulance and with the revellers well fed and the
mighty "Witch doctor" providing the tunes the
hall was again bouncing to Rhythm and Blues sounds which
continued late into the night.

Witch
Doctor letting it rip!
Sunday
Sunday was meant to be the winding down session with mellow
Jazz and the Mendip Morris Men. Luckily it didn't materialize.
With the sun shining over 100 people returned (some for
the third time in three days!) to the hall and spent a
magnificent afternoon sitting outside in the sun devouring
what was left of the stock, and with families letting
the children run free range, we all discovered the meaning
of the word "Contentment".

"Sun"-day
